OHO!

This is probably old news to all the older Druid bloggers out there, but I just recently discovered a VERY fun thing that is exclusive to us…
Well; two things, really, but I’ve known about one of them since I hit 68, several months ago. The old one is the classic /mountspecial command- for normal mounts, they just go into their “standing still on the ground” pose for a moment, so it’s slightly comical while midair, but not all that cool.
Flight form, on the other hand… we do a quick loop. ^_^

Now, the new thing I discovered- Insert and Delete. If you haven’t rebound them from the default, if you press these while flying forward, you will be able to control your pitch- with no limit.
This allows you to do such awesome things as flying upside-down…

I’ll try to remember to add images later on, when I’m not blatantly violating company policy by using the internet for something not directly related to work… (Damn draconian internet use policy…)

2.42’s Potential Changes- Screw Druids?

Hmm… it’s a bit early for 2.42 info, since it’s not even on the PTRs yet, BUT…
Undocumented Changes in 2.42
The bit that concerns me is the Mount Speed trinket changes- mount-speed trinkets become Enchants, cast on your mounts. This affects several classes adversely, unless they make this a “sneak-peek” at inscription- since Pallies, Warlocks, and Druids normally don’t use a mount.
Now, the REALLY annoying bit, to me?

Charm of Swift Flight (which will stay a trinket) now also reduces the mana cost of Flight Form and Swift Flight Form by 115 mana

Ok, cool…
Wait…
I use Outfitter to swap my trinket in when I shift to Swift Flight form, and then swap it back out when I shift out.
Meaning, I miss out on the mana reduction.

Personally, IF this story is accurate, and IF they make these affect the pally/warlock mount powers, then I’d like to see us lose the charm as a trinket, and instead have it simply “inscribe” our flight form power…

Well; I guess it all really depends on whether these are accurate or not. Once it’s confirmed, THEN druids can unite, possibly with our pally and ‘lock brethren, in a QQ-fest to shame all QQ-fests that came before… ^_-

Epic Flight Form

Well; I’m about halfway through my Epic Flight Form quest line, so long as the final battle with Anzu is heavily weighted.

Last night, Twain and I flew over half of outland, running from place to place; tomorrow, we plan on doing the Moonstone quest, and hopefully we can pull together a heroic Sethekk halls group to get Anzu… we’ll see…

RAWR! (I’m a bear!)

As everyone else has mentioned, Rawr has been updated for kitties, too! I love tanking, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes, you just wanna tear into someone’s rear.

Ok, that sounded a bit differently in my head than it does “on paper.”
Bah- you know what I meant.
Anyway; there are a couple of surprising items you can glean from Tossk’s DPS Gear Method page; it seems that, for kitties anyway, Strength=Agility, in terms of upping DPS. All kinds of interesting math on that there page, a-yup.

69 3/4; time to really get farming

/sigh

Well, I’m 69 and about 2 bars from 70… I should be really happy about that, but I want to get my Strength of the Clefthoof set ([Heavy Clefthoof Boots][Heavy Clefthoof Leggings][Heavy Clefthoof Vest]up and running ASAP, as well as start my Epic Flight Form quest chain, along with my wife… but it seems it’ll be a pain to do. I’ve got nearly 1500 gold set aside in my bank/AH alt, but that’s only part of the way to the 5000 or so I’ll need to start the flight form quest, as well as the extra cash I’ll need to gem-up my clefthoof set…

As for the Clefthoof set; I’m getting there… I’ve got 60 or so of the 102 Thick Clefthoof leather I’ll need (I’m making the 3 pieces, and then a [Clefthide Leg Armor] kit to go along with it.) I also have, thanks to my wonderful, generous wife, 6 of the 16 primal earths, these being the item I hate farming the very most. Druids vs. Elementals is NOT a fun fight. Or rather, not a FAST fight. Clefthoof? If my OoC procs at least once per fight, I can burn through them at a rate of about one every 10-15 seconds. (I call it my tank gear, but my current gear is really more Cat-gear than anything else…)

The rest of the mats I’ll need are trivial, other than the gems to go in the pieces when they’re done; I’m thinking of adding “Shifting” purple gems for the 4 blue sockets, and “Glinting” orange gems to the 4 yellow sockets; I found what I wanted by checking one of my favorite info-sites, the WoW Gem Finder; specifically, by searching for agility yellow, and agility blue

Although, for the gems, I know I really probably ought to be getting “Enduring” gems for all those slots… I just really like the effects of my agility. Dodge, more armor, crit chance… but I DO need the defense to become uncrittable and make my healers happy… and since I’m married to my healer, that’s probably a good plan…

Woot! 68!

Let’s see, what to say about 68… oh, yes-

FLIGHT FORM GOOOOOOOD!

I can’t say how awesome it is to have a completely safe (with the exception of insane, rawrbombing druids like myself) method of travel. Especially in Nagrand. I’m also enjoying being able to dump aggro by jumping in to the Twisting Nether if I’m near the edge of the world, then shift to flight form before I die (Needless to say, this is a LAST resort maneuver, since if I’m late, or if the world is a bit low in the spot I jump… I don’t lose aggro before I die. >.< )

What else about 68? Well, I can start my Kara attunement chain, and continue farming mats for my Clefthoof set, /sigh.  Well, mats, and try to find a way to farm rep for Cenarion Expedition… Oh, Earthwarden, how I covet you.

(Also, if anyone knows a way to add Wowhead popup-links to free wordpress.com sites, I’d LOVE to know how…)
